Keith Urban American Idol Judge

Reality shows have brought some real country superstars to the table with Carrie Underwood,Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler and Scotty Mccreery to name but a few.

It seems right that the networks should start to seek out some mentors who are seasoned artists in the country scene. With the great successes of both Jennifer Nettles from Sugarlandacting as a fantastic mentor on “Duets” and Blake Sheltonshowing his characteristically vibrant personality on “The Voice” the tone seems set for country artists to take a prominent role in these shows. The next in line to take on the reality TV show mantle (to the song of $3 million) is Australian born country start Keith Urban, who has reportedly just signed a deal withAmerican idol to be a judge on the next season.

Keith is not totally new to reality TV having already been a judge on the Australian version of “The Voice“. One of the other country star in the running was Brad Paisley. It is also reported that Urban will be sitting on the panel alongside R&B rapper Nicki Minaj. They will be joining Mariah Cary and Randy Jackson who are already confirmed for this coming season.

Lady Antebellum’s New Album Starts Taking Shape

With only a couple of months at home after their mammoth world tour promoting their 3rd smash hit album “Own The Night”… Lady Antebellum take fans inside the very beginnings of album 4 as they start pre production rehearsals. Check it out below.

Multi instrumentalist Dave Haywood discusses how he feels the bond between the 3 band members has developed over time.

“I look at ourselves as a band who’s so close right now… When I look back at the first record and listen to the music and remember us recording those songs and writing those songs, we were still figuring each other out. And not to say we’ve figured each other out, but we know so much more about each other. We’re just so much more open to saying what we want to say.”
Dave mentions the band’s biggest hit and how he feels it was a turning point for them…  “‘Need You Now’ was a big step for us,” he said. “We were real hesitant about putting that line in there – ‘I’m a little drunk, and I need you now.’ And I think we just went for it, and I think from that moment on and then a lot of this record [Own the Night] was all written out of a point of us being closer than we’ve ever been before.”

New song lyrics! Sneak preview…

It’s been an amazing journey with our “Inner Circle” over these past  few weeks starting to get songs down for what will be our 5th studio album! Usually it is only Inner Circle members that get in on the action but I wanted to release some lyrics I’ve been working on this week that haven’t yet been released anywhere else. This was a song James, Tim and I finished just a couple of days ago and we will be performing a live version for the Inner Circle this coming Thursday.

The idea has been around in a rough form for a couple of years. It was written after being at a very close friend’s mothers funeral. She was an amazing woman and she left a real legacy and impact on those around her. She and her husband fostered many kids and lived their lives in an amazing way. You can’t help but be effected by the lived and stories of people like that. The song is inspired by the feeling I had that day and without putting too fine a point on it, this is just what came out a
after reflecting on this amazing couple.

“I’d Live It All With You”

V1

It’s a walk in the evening, when the hand that your holding

Is the one you’ve been loving your whole life long

It’s a life when you look back

And you couldn’t pick the best part

Couldn’t choose if you had to, so much is so good

It doesn’t make it any easier, we still have to say goodbye

There comes a day when we have to say “I’ll see you on the other side, I’ll see you on the other side”

Chorus

But I’m so glad it was all with you

Cause every day we had, keeps shining through

And If I had to live this life again

I’d live it all with you

V2

Some say we’re travellers

All heading homeward

Just moving forward

That we’re all just passing through

Some look to the heavens

And say that’s where we’re going

Some look to your heart and say

“That’s where I’ll be”

It doesn’t make it any easier

When we have to say goodbye

There comes a day when we have to say

“I’ll see you on the other side, I’ll see you on the other side”

Chorus

But I’m so glad it was all with you

Cause every day we had, keep shining through

And if I had to live this life again

I’d live it all with you…
